DOVER — A 22-year-old Dover man was arrested on burglary charges following two incidents early Tuesday, authorities said.

Kyle Batson was first taken into custody and charged with third-degree burglary for an incident at the Valero gas station, 530 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said. He was then located, taken into custody and released on an own-recognizance bond, police said.

At 7:49 a.m., police were called to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 425 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, for a reported burglary. Police reviewed surveillance video of the break-in at 2:30 a.m. and determined that Mr. Batson was a person of interest in that case, as well, Sgt. Hoffman said.

Mr. Batson was later arrested without incident in the area of White Oak Road and North DuPont Highway. At this point, he was additionally charged with one count of second-degree burglary and held at Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $2,000 secured bond.
