Dover man charged with third offense DUI

DOVER - Angelo Albarran, 51, of Dover, was charged with a third offense DUI following a single vehicle collision on Monday night.

Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said officers responded to the 200 Block of West Division Street after Mr. Albarran struck a curb, utility pole, and a residence while operating a gold GMC Sierra.

Mr. Albarran was transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash, police said. Officers obtained a blood search warrant after Mr. Albarran showed signs of intoxication, according to Sgt. Hoffman.

Upon release from the hospital, Mr. Albarran was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,600 secured bond. He was also charged with multiple traffic offenses.
