DOVER — A 31-year-old Dover man was charged with sexual abuse of a child connected to the business he owned, authorities said Tuesday.
According to Dover Police, Thomas Keaton had a sexual relationship with a former athlete/employee of Legends Elite at 155 Commerce Way Suite D.
Spokesperson Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said police were contacted in February regarding a reported sexual relationship that had occurred between Mr. Keaton and a female who was 17-years-old when it began.
Police investigation determined that the relationship with the girl between the months of February 2023 and March of 2023, Cpl. Schmid said.
Warrants were obtained and Cpl. Schmid said Mr. Keaton on Monday turned himself in to the police department where he was processed and arraigned.
Mr. Keaton was charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust (five counts), fourth-degree rape (three counts), sexual solicitation of a child under 18 years old and second-degree unlawful sexual contact.
Mr. Keaton was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $121,000 cash bail
