DOVER - Kevin Pearsall, 40, of Dover, was charged with fourth offense DUI on Wednesday, authorities said.

Officers stopped Mr. Pearsall at approximately 11:53 p.m. in the area of White Oak Road and Edgehill Avenue, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said. Prior to stopping, police said, officers observed Mr. Pearsall fail to stay within his lane of travel multiple times, nearly striking a curb.

A traffic stop followed and police said Mr. Pearsall showed signs of intoxication when officers contacted him. Police said Mr. Pearsall refused to perform any field sobriety tests for officers, so a blood search warrant was obtained.

Mr. Pearsall was also charged with driving while suspended/revoked, and traffic offenses. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $4,500 secured bond.
