Dover man charged in May shooting

DOVER - Jaron Jones, 45, of Dover, was arrested following an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred in the Capitol Park neighborhood in May, Delaware State Police said.

The arrest stemmed for a shooting on May 24 that left a 45-year-old Clayton man wounded. According to police Mr. Jones had fired shots at his neighbor on Congress Place, which instead struck the victim.

Mr. Jones turned himself in to police on Thursday and was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by person prohibited, and first-degree reckless endangering. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $115,000 cash bond.
