DOVER — Bryan Say, 30, of Dover, was arrested on a robbery charge following an incident at the Kent Budget Motel on Saturday.
Dover police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said officers were called to the scene at 388 N. DuPont Highway at approximately 11:44 p.m. Upon their arrival, a woman alleged that Mr. Say came to her room, displayed a firearm and demanded property from her, police said.
The woman told the officers that she turned over her phone and an undisclosed amount of money. Mr. Say then fled but was later located and taken into custody without incident, Cpl. Schmid said. Police checked the area where the suspect was found and located the firearm used.
Mr. Say was charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and aggravated menacing. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $53,000 secured bond.
