DOVER — Norman Merritt, 33, of Dover, has been charged with rape after an alleged sexual relationship with a minor.
Dover police Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said the relationship occurred between December 2021 and July 2022. Police were contacted by a family member of the minor Monday.
Mr. Merritt turned himself in to police Wednesday. He was charged with two counts of second-degree rape, four counts of third-degree rape and second-degree unlawful sexual contact, then committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $363,000 cash bail.
