DOVER - A 39-year-old Dover man had bond revoked after his second arrest in just over a week, authorities said Monday.

The Dover Police Street Crimes Unit arrested Pierre Downs was initially  arrested on robbery and weapons charges, authorities said.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Friday, officers attempted to stop an orange Dodge Charger that was seen driving at a high rate of speed in the area of North New Street at Fulton Street, police said. The vehicle failed to stop despite officers attempting to pull it over, traveling to Lincoln Street and Forrest Street and stopping for police.

Officers contacted Mr. Downs who was found to be in possession of 1.5 grams of crack cocaine and $1,019 in drug proceeds, according to authorities. Police found that Mr. Downs allegedly ingested an unknown amount of crack cocaine in an attempt to conceal it from officers and had to be treated at a local hospital as a result.

Charges included possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, tampering with physical evidence, disregard police officer signal, and multiple traffic offenses.

Mr. Downs’ bond from his Oct. 7 arrest was revoked and he was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna on  $26,350 secured bond.
