Dover Federal Credit Union announces new CEO

DOVER – The Dover Federal Credit Union, on Wednesday, announced that it has selected Janell Upton has its new president and CEO.

Ms. Upton will take the reigns of the credit union, which opened in 1958, on Jan. 23.

She was chosen after an extensive nationwide search, Dover Federal Credit Union officials said in a press release.

Ms. Upton is succeeding former CEO Chaz Rzewnicki who left last year to take a similar position for Vibe Credit Union located in Novi, Michigan. Current interim CEO, Donna Kiscaden will return to her role as Chief Financial and Risk Officer.

“I am honored to be selected as the next President and CEO of Dover Federal Credit Union,” Ms. Upton said. “I look forward to leading this exceptional credit union and talented team to further assist our members in reaching their financial goals and enabling growth and change that benefits the staff, the organization, and the communities we serve.”

The new Dover Federal Credit Union president and CEO has 25 years of experience working in the banking industry with most of that time spent with credit unions.

“She brings with her over a decade of service providing financial literacy training and counseling to those in need,” said Cory Thomas, Dover Federal Board chairman. “We are delighted to have Janell joining the DFCU team and know our future is bright with her in this role.”
