Dover - Dorothy H. Powell passed away at Kent General Hospital, on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born in Dover, Del. to the late Lewis and Ethel Holzer. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Heintz. Dorothy worked for many years at Mellon Bank. She had several hobbies and interests. She loved gathering with friends, crafting, decorating, floral arranging, and playing the piano. Dorothy loved hosting parties, and enjoyed getting together for holidays and special occasions. Most importantly, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Clarence "Buddy", of 66 years; grandchildren, Amber and her husband Christopher, Corey, and Leah; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Ryan, and Kaden. A Viewing will take place from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE 19934.
