SALISBURY - Dorothy C. Beach, 91, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at the Atria Assisted Living in Salisbury.
She was born in Delmar, Del. on Dec. 2, 1914, and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie Kenney Cordrey.
She attended schools at Delmar, having graduated from Delmar High School in 1933. On April 10, 1936, she was married to John K. Beach. Mr. Beach passed away on May 5, 1988.
Mrs. Beach was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cambridge, and had been quite active in the annual Flower Fair as well as the Soup Day. She also enjoyed playing cards and traveling extensively.
She had been in failing health for several years and had been a resident at the Atria Assisted Living in Salisbury for the past three years.
Survivors include three daughters: Elaine B. (Sam) Moore and her husband, Jack Moore of Hurlock, Janice B. Hoffman of Hurlock and Susan B. Tull and her husband, John Tull of Parsonsburg. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Joanna Thyng, Valerie Horsman, Angela Jones, Julie Petza, Reneé Hennigar, Crystal Disharoon, and Ashley Tull; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Cordrey of Delmar, Del. and a sister-in-law Rebecca, White of Salisbury and five nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar, Del., with the Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Holiday Fund Committee c/o Atria Salisbury, 1110 Healthway Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
