HARTLY - Dorothy B. Pearson passed away Nov. 4, 2012 at the Country Rest Home, Greenwood, Del. She was born Dec. 26, 1924, near Kenton, Del. to the late Olin and Martha Schweitzer Burris. Mrs. Pearson attended the Downs Chapel and Hartly Elementary Schools and graduated in 1943 from John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna, Del. She had worked for the Roger Davis Grocery Store in the 40's and 50's and retired from the Farmers Bank after many years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Pearson; brothers, Gilbert, Robert and Ralph Burris; and sister Nettie Enss. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Pearson, Jr. and his wife Lucy of Dover, Ronald Pearson and his wife Sharon of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Tina, R.J., Ben and Sara; great-grandchildren, Pearson and Makenna. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 10, 2012 at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Mrs. Pearson had requested donations to Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
