TOWNSEND - Dorothy Ann Leona (Weber) Forgione of Townsend, formerly of Stanton, passed away peacefully Monday, June 25, 2007, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark.
Born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Genevieve M. (Scherer) and Philip Weber.
Mrs. Forgione spent most of her life in the Stanton area, where she and her husband raised their four children.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother who took pride in raising her family.
Mrs. Forgione was a talented seamstress and enjoyed working on a variety of crafts.
She attended St. Joseph Parish in Middletown with her daughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, John J. Forgione Sr., on Aug. 8, 2002; a daughter, Leona M. Johnston, on Dec. 31, 1998; and a son, Philip A. Forgione, on April 7, 2007.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories a son, John J. Forgione Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Newark; a daughter, Joyce A. Connelly and her husband, Tom, of Townsend; a daughter-in-law, Linda Forgione of Smyrna; nine grandchildren, Janel Carey, Jill Forgione, Thomas Connelly, Kyle Connelly, Venus Kincaid, Charles Miller, Phillip Miller, Charlene Komives and Wayne Wingard; and 11 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Chase, Lance, Samantha, David, Riley, James, Danielle, Ashley, Gavin and Ariel.
Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Parish, 115 Cleaver Road, Middletown.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.
Mrs. Forgione will be laid to rest beside her loving husband in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
