Donna M. Ockels

SEAFORD - Donna M. Ockels passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. Donna was born on June 28, 1963, in Seaford, daughter of the late Wilson S. and Ruth Ellen (Carmean) Meredith. Mrs. Ockels was a dedicated homemaker and full time bookkeeper for her families farming operations. Donna cherished the time she spent involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and in her leisure time enjoyed playing bingo. She attended the Laurel Wesleyan Church in Laurel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Smith; and a sister, Joyce Mears. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Martin Ockels, Sr.; four children, Martin Ockels, Jr. and his wife Melissa; Kristen Osborne and her husband James; Matthew Meredith and Storm Ockels all of Seaford; five grandchildren, Hunter Meredith, Riley Osborne, Sydney Ockels, Grant Ockels and Bristol Lambden; two sisters, Debra Waldridge of Seaford and V. Diane Harrington of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at the Laurel Wesleyan Church, 30186 Laurel Seaford Hwy, Laurel. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Laurel Wesleyan Church, 30186 Laurel Seaford Hwy, Laurel, DE, 19956.
