Donald Wayne Eskridge

GEORGETOWN - Donald Wayne Eskridge, Sr. passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Christina Medical Center. Donald was born in Blades, De, the son of the late Albert D. and Lillian (Horn) Eskridge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a machinist for Dresser Industries for 38 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Bethel Worship Center in Seaford. He enjoyed camping, fishing and making antique toy parts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Anderson; and granddaughter, Zoe Eskridge. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gail Hearn Eskridge; children, Michelle Huffman and husband Wayne, of Georgetown, Donald W. Eskridge, Jr. and wife Christine, of Bridgeville, Bill A. Eskridge and wife Buffy, of Georgetown, Shawn M. Eskridge of Georgetown; one sister, Marie A. Hill of Blades; three brothers, James A. Eskridge of Seaford, Ricky L. Eskridge of Laurel and David A. Eskridge of Laurel; 17 grandchildren, Brad, Garth, Matt, Shane, Erryn, Matty, Amanda, Paige, Taylor, Emmy, Billy, Alan, Haley, Tyra, Jared and Ryley; eight great-grandchildren, Blake, Carter, Brode, Z J, Harper, Breanna, James and Addison. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
