Donald Paul Myers Sr.

Myers, Sr., 82 FREDERICA - Donald Paul Myers, Sr., Retired Master Sergeant, USAF died Monday, March 4, 2013 in the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. the son of the late Charles and Maude Myers. He joined and made a career in the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars before retiring in 1971 as a Master Sergeant. He enjoyed trains and NASCAR. He also raised Quarter Horses, showing them at many horse shows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Kymberly and Pam; and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet; two sons, Donald Myers, Jr. of Rapid City, S.D. and Thomas Myers of Frederica; one daughter, Karen Hergett, of Billings, Mont.; six grandchildren, Amie, Jason, Brandon, Justin, Ryan and Chris; as well as several great grandchildren. The family would also like to offer a special thank you to his second family, the Staff at the Delaware Veterans Home. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, Del.
