DOVER - Donald J. Stubbe, Staff Sgt., U.S. Air Force retired died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Donald was born in St. John, Washington, the son of the late Alvis H. and Edna K. (Russel) Stubbe. He joined and made a career in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years before retiring in 1976. After the service, Donald worked as a deliveryman for Service Energy for many years. He was a life member of the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as Fire Police, Captain of the Fire Police and Rescue Captain. He was also a member of the Ellendale V.F.W. as well as the Air Force Sergeants Association. He took pride and showed support by attending his nephews sporting events. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Stubbe in 2002. He is survived by two brothers, Darrell and Doug Stubbe, of Washington; four sisters-in-law, Rita Clendaniel, of Lincoln; Wanda Howell, of Milford; Linda Grabowski and her husband Hank, of Milford and Juanita Adams and her husband Martin, of Gloucestor, Va.; nephews, Michael Rice and his wife Arline, of Conshohocken, Pa. and Chris Rice and his fiance' Rebecca, of Greenville, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews and his special Monday night visitor, Lizzy Howell. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, 302 Main Street, Ellendale, where services will be held at 11 am followed by firefighter honors. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to either the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
