FELTON - Donald Gene Messick passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. Mr. Messick was born June 4, 1970 in Milford, Del. to the late Dorothy "Louise" Cohee Messick. He worked in construction until becoming disabled. He was a big kid at heart, especially where cars and his kids, nieces, nephews and cousins were concerned. Mr. Messick is survived by his children, Nicole R. Tuttle, Donald G. Milburn, Stephen "Cory" Tuttle, Damien L. Messick, and Tiffany L. Messick; brothers, Curtis Powell and family, Michael Powell, Sr. and family; sisters, Sandra Tibbitt and family, Louise Holleger and family and Penny Van Vleck and family; seven grandchildren; ten nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family requests everyone to dress casual for the services. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray funeral expenses. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
