TRAPPE - Deacon Donald Brown Sr. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at the House of the Pines in Easton.

He was born May 28, 1937, son of the late Clara Pack and Walter R. Brown.

Deacon Brown attended Bates High School in Annapolis. In 1957, he enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.

He joined Wayman"s Good Hope A.M.E. Church in Severna Park. Donald was employed by the Waste Management Corp., in Annapolis, until his health began to decline in 1993. He joined the renowned Johnson Male Chorus of Town Neck, in 1994.

Donald met Miss Shirley Ward. They were joined in Holy Matrimony in August of 1991. In 1998, he joined Mt. Olive Full Gospel Baptist Church and became an ordained Deacon on July 13, 2000. He enjoyed listening to good gospel music and bird watching.

Donald is survived by his wife, Shirley Ward Brown; four children, Donald Brown Jr. (Adrienne), Rhona Blackwell and Pamela Dorsey (all of Baltimore) and Myranda Brown (Brooklyn); a sister, Jacqueline Jones (Severn); two stepsons, Levone Ward (Kimberly) Catonsville and William Holland (Woodlawn); four sisters-in-law, Juanita Brown (Severna Park), Evang. Cecia Ward and Bertha Molock (both of Cambridge) and Wilma Dorsey (Hoopersville); 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also had two spiritual sons, Walter Thomas and David Copeland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Pack and Walter R. Brown; a brother, Joseph Brown; a sister, Mary White and a daughter, Mildred Fields.

A homegoing service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, at Refuge Temple Church of God, 800 Robbins St., Cambridge,

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Greater Mount Olive Full Gospel Baptist Church, 601 Douglas St. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Eastern Shore Veterans" Cemetery, Hurlock.

The Henry Funeral Home, PA in Cambridge is handling the arrangements.
