DOVER - Don Steele, of Willcox, Ariz., died May 1, 2014 at the age of 55. He was born in Dover on July 26, 1958 to Carlton Steele and Sadie Heverin Steele. Don started working for Barnett's Towing in 1986, transferred to Willcox in 1987 and continue to work for them as a towing and recovery driver until his untimely death on the job. Don had been the longest employee of Barnett's towing. Most people would recognize Don in the Barnett's heavy duty tow truck and he was known as Barnett's #29, his loss will be felt greatly in the Barnett's operation. Don loved God, was a member of Extended Hands, enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, building model trucks and restoring old toy trucks. He loved his family and will be missed. Don always had a caring and loving smile and he never knew a stranger. Survivors include his son, D.J. Steele of Raleigh, N.C. and D.J.'s mother, Martha of Texas; his very special in Life Partner, Cathe Shelton of Willcox; and his father, Carlton Steele of Smyrna. Don is also survived by his siblings, Richard (Mary Ann) Steele of Clayton, Carl ( Julia) Steele of Smyrna, Marjorie (Chuck) Alling of St. David, Ariz., and Teresa ( Mark) Rhodes of Willcox, Ariz.; along with numerous nieces and nephews and the entire Barnett's organization family. Preceding him in death was his mother, Sadie. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Westlawn Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Willcox. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Barnett's Towing; 1498 E.
