Delaware environmental employees donate 1,000 gifts to Toys for Tots

Posted

REHOBOTH BEACH — Delaware Natural Resources police and Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary Shawn M. Garvin were joined by Santa Claus at Delaware Seashore State Park recently to box up toys donated by the public and department employees to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign.

Gifts collected by Natural Resources police — an agency that consists of Fish & Wildlife police, park rangers and the Environmental Crimes Unit — amounted to almost 1,000 donations, including toys, books, stocking stuffers and bicycles.

The toys are being distributed to children across the state, whose families might not be able to afford holiday gift-giving.
