CLAYTON - Diane Towns passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Towns was born Oct. 2, 1941 in Dover, the daughter of the late James and Mildred Hairgrove. She was one tough cookie who worked as an Accountant for Quaker City Motorparts in Middletown, Del. for over 30 years until her retirement. Diane enjoyed attending church and bible study at Ewell's St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Clayton. She was a member of Century Club and active in other community based organizations. She loved to collect dolls and Teddy Bears. Diane enjoyed her retirement very much. She is survived by her son, Wes Stubbs and his wife Melissa; and their daughter, Chloe. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna, Del., where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Old Drawyers Cemetery in Odessa, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Ewell's St. Pauls United Methodist Church, PO Box 266, Clayton, DE 19938. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
