DOVER — The DIAA said Friday that it is not considering a proposal that would keep the boys’ and girls’ basketball state tournament semifinals from being played at the Carpenter Center.
A guest opinion, which ran in the Jan. 18 edition of the State News, said that the matter was set to be discussed at the DIAA’s monthly board of director’s meeting on Thursday.
That meeting did not take place because not enough members could attend to have a quorum.
Traditionally, both the boys’ and girls’ semifinals and finals are held at the Carpenter Center in Newark. In some seasons, the quarterfinal rounds have been held at the Carpenter Center as well.
This year’s state tourneys are slated to start on Feb. 28 and March 1.
