DOVER - Kevin Charles announced on Monday that he will be stepping down as the executive director of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association.
Charles said he expects to retire after the end of the school year, on June 30.
He said he submitted his letter of retirement to Department of Education secretary Steven Godowsky as well as DIAA chair Terre Taylor on March 1. Charles said he wanted the DIAA board to be able to find a replacement by the June 9 board meeting.
Charles, a Dover High grad, declined to comment further at this time.
