
DOVER - Dennis G. Lyttle passed away in his home on Sept. 21, 2012. He was born on Sept. 20, 1939, in Paterson, N.J., the son of Alexander R. and Edna D. Morrison. After proudly serving 20 years in the United States Navy, he retired in 1977, he and his family moved to Emerson, N.J., where he worked for Hill-Rom for several years. In 1989, he and his wife relocated to Delaware where he worked for several years for the State of Delaware in the Corrections and Del DOT. Upon his retirement from the State of Delaware, he and his wife enjoyed spending their summers travelling by camper throughout the United States. Between his military career and their travels, they were able to go to all 50 states. Dennis was also an avid bowler his entire life. He was preceded in death by his son, Alan G. Lyttle; and two brothers-in-law. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Annamarie C. Lyttle, of Dover; his son, James D. Lyttle and his wife, Cheryl A. Lyttle of Dover, Del.; his daughter, Debra A. Handel and her husband, Ronald N. Handel of Dover, Del.; and his grandchildren, David A. Lyttle, Timothy F. Lyttle, Lindsey M. Lyttle, Rebecca A. Handel and Dylan A. Handel; three sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and several nieces; nephews; as well has his wonderful caregivers. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Burial will be privately held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
