Former Delaware basketball star Elena Delle Donne will undergo surgery today to repair an injury to her right thumb.
A forward for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, Delle Donne suffered the injury in a game against the Washington Mystics on Sept. 7.
There is no timetable for Delle Donne’s return. Last year’s league MVP, she was averaging 21.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
