Shooting in Magnolia injures one

MAGNOLIA — Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Magnolia on Sunday.

Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said that, at approximately 1:23 a.m., troopers responded to the 100 block of Orange Street, after reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they observed numerous vehicles and pedestrians departing the area and a 37-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his lower extremities, he said.

Police concluded that the victim had been leaving a nearby party, when he was shot by an unknown suspect, Cpl. DeMalto said. The Dover resident was transported to a nearby hospital.

Details surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and there is no suspect description available.
