The Delaware Aviation Hall of Fame is looking for a few good men and women to honor at its 22nd induction ceremony.

Founded in 1999 to commemorate the First State’s aviation achievers, the organization is accepting nominations through April 4. After selection of the top nominees by DAHF’s board of trustees, the inductees will be celebrated at a banquet at the Hockessin Fire Co. in the fall. To date, 127 individuals have been enshrined.

Eligibility includes any aspect of civilian or military aviation, in the air or on the ground (e.g., aircrew and ground service personnel), design, aerospace manufacturer, maintenance, flight instruction, air traffic control, airport operations, aviation sales, promotion and/or education.

Selection criteria include:

  • Outstanding contribution(s) to the advancement of aviation in Delaware.
  • Achievement in aviation elsewhere bringing singular credit to the First State.
  • Gallantry in aviation by a Delawarean in service to the First State and/or the nation.

Nominations should be typewritten and single-spaced on two pages or less. Copies of supporting documents (e.g., DD214s, awards, citations, news articles, letters of commendation, etc.) are welcome. Contact information for both nominator and nominee (phone, address and e-mail) must be included.

For more information or to obtain a nomination form, visit here.

Send nominations to Delaware Aviation Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 4303, Greenville, DE 19807 or to LeSans Alexander at llatc719@gmail.com.
