DOVER — State Auditor Kathy McGuiness announced Tuesday that her office has passed its national peer review.
The review, performed by auditing peers from New Jersey, Colorado and Texas, is an examination of the work performed by the office over the last three years.
The peers examined how well the office follows national auditing standards, if it follows its own policies and procedures, and how auditing engagements are conducted.
Offices are given a grade of Pass, Pass With Deficiencies or Fail.
The Delaware State Auditor’s Office is a member of the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers, which organizes both the peer review and its team members. The reviews aim to monitor the state offices’ accounting and auditing practices to promote quality work.
