David R. Wargo, a proud 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force and a dedicated industrial engineer, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by the love of his family.

David lived a life of service, hard work, and deep appreciation for the simple joys. After retiring from the Air Force, he began a successful second career as an industrial engineer, where his problem-solving skills and quiet determination made a lasting impact.

David was happiest when outdoors, especially with a fishing rod in hand, tinkering in his garage or manning the grill. He loved to cook for his family and friends. In recent years, he and his beloved partner Liz embraced the best of both worlds, splitting their time between Delaware and sunny, warm Florida.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. David’s life was a testament to resilience, devotion, and the quiet strength of a good man.

He is survived by his partner of more than 30 years, Elisabeth McGuire, his daughter Dana Cerniglia and his son in law Jamie Cerniglia, his step-daughter Karen Townsend and his grandchildren Tatianna Cerniglia, Jaden Townsend, Terry Hitchens and Noah Hitchens. His legacy will live on in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the love he gave so freely.

David is preceded in death by his son, David E. Wargo, and his step-sons, Terry Hitchens and Bryan Hitchens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
