Cotullas, 72
David Charles Cotullas passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023. David was born on February 27, 1951 in Syracuse, New York to the late James P. Cotullas and Mina (Look) Cotullas.
He resided in Dover, Delaware for over 25 years. David spent several years in Greece with his family where he learned to speak the language fluently, later moving to Nazareth, PA where he attended high school.
David was an amazing lead guitarist and spent several years playing in bands around Delaware and Maryland. He played in bands such as The Key of Red and Rain Tree. He went to school for guitar building and did guitar repair locally and worked for Xerox Corp. for many years.
In later years, he worked for the State of Delaware repairing computers before retiring. His favorite thing to do was to gig with local Dover friends, and spending time with his children.
He is survived by his children, James C. Cotullas of MD, and Katherine E. Cotullas of DE; as well as a grandson, Maximus Cotullas who loved hearing his Pop-Pop play guitar for him; and was looking forward to the birth of his 1st granddaughter, Isabella Rose who is due October 26, 2023.
Memorial services will be held 3PM, Friday, August 4, 2023 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Friends of Folk or Cancer Support Community of Delaware.
