DOVER - David Benjamin Harman, of Dover, died Monday, August 22, 2016, at his residence. He was 77. He was born March 25, 1939, in Dover, to the late Jesse A. Harman and Maude Bramble Harman. David was a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College. He served six years in the Delaware Army National Guard, and was activated during the Wilmington riots in 1968. He oversaw the operation of Harman Oil Company and other family business. He served as his father's primary caregiver and later as his mother's. David is survived by his wife, Lois Whaley-Harman; brother, William R. Harman, Sr., and his wife Mary-Love Harman; step-daughter, Maria Whaley Cannon; step-son, Joshua Whaley; niece, Lisa Harman Gooder; nephew, William R. Harman, Jr.; and four step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
