Daniel Lee Hicks, 45
VERMONT - Daniel Lee Hicks of Vermont, formerly of Harrington, Del., passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in Vermont. He was 45.
Mr. Hicks was born in Wilmington, Del., son of Ruth Simpson Hicks of Harrington and the late Ballard Ray Hicks.
He worked in landscaping for several years.
Mr. Hicks enjoyed watching football.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Danelle Hicks; and two brothers, Ballard Hicks and Michael Hicks.
He is survived by his mother and her fiancé, Ruth Hicks and Leroy Clayville of Harrington; six children, Desiree Falkenheimer of Georgetown, Del., Darlene Hopkins of Frederica, Del., Daniel Hicks Jr., Jessica Hicks and Sabrina Hicks, all of Vermont, and Bradley Wingo of Frederica; siblings, Sheila Brooks and her husband, Wayne of New Castle, Del., Delta Smith and her husband, James of Harrington, Tina Barlow and her husband, Nick of Milford, Del., Charles Hicks of Milford and William Hicks of Harrington; two grandchildren, Michael and Madison; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and his dear friends who cared for him while he was sick, Joshua Tatro and family.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
