DOVER - Now in its sixth year, Dancing with the Delaware Stars had another successful event at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino Saturday night.

The competition was stiff, so much so that the event had its first official tie, but Tonda Parks, vice president of advertising development for the Delaware State News, and Jeo Fernandez, a second-year competitor with First State Dance Academy in Milford were eventually named the winners after a “dance-off” between the top two pairs of dancers.

The event benefited Mom’s House of Dover, a nonprofit organization that looks after children of single parents who are enrolled full-time in either high school or college and can’t afford child care while they are working toward their degree. More than $75,000 was raised Saturday night.
