Curvin Evans, 84

GAFFNEY, SC - Curvin Junior Evans, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2007 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born on Smith Island, Md., he was the husband of V. Elizabeth Ramey Evans and the son of the late Emory Curvin Evans and Nora Mae Tyler Evans. He was retired from A&P grocery stores and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Evans was a Gideon and a member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald Curvin Evans and wife, Deborah of Fallston, Md.; two daughters, Connie Marie Scott and husband, Earl of Bel Air, Md. and Sharon Evans Story and husband, Victor of Gaffney; seven grandchildren, Thomas Kusterer and wife, Hope of Chesnee, Beth Gibson and husband, John of Charlotte, Holly Childers and husband, Matthew of Gaffney, Jeff Scott of Philadelphia, Tyler Scott of Bel Air, Lauryn Evans of Fallston and Allisyn Evans, also of Fallston; one great-grandchild, Lauren Kusterer of Chesnee.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Orion Evans.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 26, at Blakely Funeral Home. The Rev. Joel Sellers officiated. Entombment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
