CRISFIELD - Crystal C. Adkins, 60, of Crisfield and formerly of New Castle, Del., died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at her home. Born in Montcall, W.Va., on July 29, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Edward Bonds, Sr. and Colleen Erwin Bonds. Her husband, William D. Adkins Sr., died in 1988. She had been making her home in Crisfield for the past 20 years. She was a retired manager at Family Dollar Stores in Crisfield. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hensley and fiancé Lloyd Webb of Crisfield; two granddaughters, Christy and Destiney Hensley of Williamson, W.Va.; three brothers, Gary Bonds of Lawrenceville, Ga., Peter Bonds of Annville, Pa., and Edward Bonds Jr. of Smyrna, Del.; a sister, Ann Carrico of Anderson, S.C.; a special sister-in-law, Harriet Figgs of Marion Station; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Wesley W. Adkins on July 29, 2004; two brothers, Paul and Kevin Bonds; and a sister, Trudy Bonds. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Grace Lawn Memorial Park in New Castle. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to American Heart Association, Memorial and Tribute Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216; or Alfred I.
