Constance Anne Roof

DOVER - After a valiant fight with cancer and other severe medical problems, Constance Anne Roof , 77, passed away on Nov. 13, 2014. Connie had been employed by the Delaware State Treasurers office and Alaskan Railroad before accepting a lifelong position on Dover Air Force Base. She served in the aircraft maintenance complex as a key punch operator and supervisor before accepting a position as the chief of administration. She retired in 1992 due to medical issues. In retirement, her enjoyment centered around bowling, fishing, and deer hunting. Born Oct. 8,1937 to the late Bradford and Betty Jones of Bridgeville, she was preceded in death by her brother, Barry Jones. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, George S. Roof; a daughter, Stacey Saxton (Michael); and two step-daughters, Shannon Harman and Jennifer Roof of South Carolina; granddaughter, Amy Stratton of Dover, and Mallory and Weston Harman of Lexington, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Lexi Stratton and Will Charlton; a sister, Kim Stewart of Bridgeville; and a nephew, Barry Lee Jones of Bridgeville; along with extended nieces and nephews.
