CAMBRIDGE - Connie Bennett, 65, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.

She was born and raised in Princeton, W.Va. She later moved to Washington D.C. where she became a court stenographer and met her husband, Ron Bennett. They married in 1971 and moved to Cambridge, where they have since resided.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Bennett; her daughter, Susan Bennett Stimpson and son-in-law, Daniel Stimpson; daughter, Tricia Bennett Getsinger and son-in-law, Matthew Getsinger and grandchildren, Caroline, William, Grace, Jack and Matthew.

Her grandchildren were her heart's life and joy.

A memorial service will be held at Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge at noon on Saturday. She will be buried at her birthplace, Princeton, W.Va., on Monday.

David W. Tyler

FISHING CREEK - David Welsie Tyler, 71, died Wednesday night, Feb. 13, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake, Salisbury.

Born on May 8, 1936 in Hoopers Island, he was the son of the late Oliver George Tyler and Ella Marie Rhea Tyler.

On April 27, 1957 he married the former Cora Creighton.

Mr. Tyler was a self-employed waterman and handyman. He was known for his ability to fix anything. He enjoyed working, keeping busy and fishing.

Surviving besides his wife of 50 years, Cora Tyler, are six children, David H. Tyler and his wife, Rose of Taylors Island, Tommy Tyler and his wife, June, Sherry Null, Shelly Tyler, all of Linkwood, Johnny Tyler and his wife, Lynette of Ocala, Fla. and Sherry L. Tyler of Hooper Island; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Bobby Rhea of Delaware; a half-sister, Barbara Mowbray of Cambridge; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers, Sam Tyler and Dan Tyler.

Mr. Tyler was cremated and private services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733.

Arrangements were handled by Mid Shore Cremation Center, Cambridge.
