Delaware managed just six fourth-quarter points in falling to Northeastern, 75-62, in CAA women’s basketball on Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Hens (1-4 CAA, 6-11 overall) trailed by nine points both at halftime and after three quarters but the Huskies out-scored them, 10-6, in the fourth quarter to close out the win.
Freshman Jasmine Dickey posted her second straight double-double and finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a season-high three blocked shots and two steals.
Junior Bailey Kargo led the Hens with 18 points, including four three-pointers, while classmate Abby Gonzales contributed 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Sunday’s game was the first for the Hens at historic Matthews Arena, which is the world’s oldest multi-purpose athletic building.

The 4 x 400 relay team comprised of Lakendra Harpe, Donyae Shelton, Precious Igwebuike and Ahnrea McCaskill finished fifth, crossing the finish line in 4 minutes, 2.05 seconds.
Amber Conyers finished in seventh place with 11.46 meters in the triple jump, a career high in distance for the junior.
Hornets seventh in tourney: Delaware State dropped three of five traditional matches to stand in seventh place after day two of the 28-team Kutztown Invitational.
The nationally ranked Hornets (No. 13) opened their Saturday competition with a 965-917 loss to No. 10 Stephen F. Austin. DSU fell to 0-2 on the day after a 976-896 setback to No. 22 Maryville (Mo.).
Delaware State picked up its first win of the day with a 1006-992 victory over No. 11 and defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champ North Carolina A&T. The Hornets collected their second straight win, topping LIU Post 942-874 to even their record for the day.
DSU finished the day with a 1036-973 loss to No. 5 Sam Houston State
The Hornets were in fourth place after posting a 4-1 record in the tournament’s opening day on Friday.
Individually, Melissa Ortega was tops on the Hornets and 38th among 182 competitors with a five-game total pinfall of 981 (196.2). Stephany Toala posted DSU’s second-best performance of the day at 970 (194.0) to stand at 42nd in the field.
