John Embert, Jr., 96 GREENSBORO, MD- Clyde 'Brud' John Embert, Jr. died on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 in Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. He was born on May 8, 1916, in Queenstown to the late Clyde J., Sr. and Mary Lane Embert. Brud was a 1933 graduate of Centreville High School and a 1937 graduate of Goldey College of Wilmington. He started his career in Wilmington as an office boy with the Du Pont Company. He served his country during WWII as an Army First Lieutenant with the 397th Bomb Squadron from 1942 through 1946. He was manager of the Cupid Ice Cream Company of Greensboro until his appointment as Greensboro US Postmaster in 1963. He retired from the post office in 1987. Brud was past commodore and honorary member of the Kent Island Yacht Club and the Choptank River Yacht Club, Denton. He was a life member of both the American Legion, #29, Denton and the Caroline Memorial V.F.W. Post#7937, Greensboro. Brud was a 53 year Mason of Temple Lodge #128, AF&AM ; a long standing member of the York Rite of Masons and also a member of the Boumi Temple Shiners. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother William"Flick" Lane Embert and daughter Kay Embert. He is survived by his wife of 38 years the former Elsie Schreiber; his daughter, Patti Lane Embert of Sausalito, Calif.; step son, Gary Marvel and wife Sharon of Denton; granddaughters, Jessica Moore of Lewes, Del. and Lindsey Marvel-Elben and husband Randy of Denton; great granddaughter Margaret Rae Shockro of Lewes, Del.; niece Mary Lane Dubel of Freeland, Md. and cousin Anne Lane Roe of Dover, Del. A funeral service will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. A visitation for relatives and friends will be from 1 p.m to 2 p.m prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the Wye Mills Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be Ron Dyer, Jimmy Minner, Joc Walsh, Q. R.
