'Pete' Short, 72 MILFORD - Clarence Lee "Pete" Short passed away at home on Sun., Sept. 1, 2013. Mr. Short was born in Seaford son of the late Emory and Elsie (Messick) Short. Pete was a production worker for the Chrysler Corporation, where he worked for 35 years. He was a Church of Christ minister and the founding minister of Milford Church of Christ. Pete was currently preaching at the Christian Church of Seaford. Pete enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing, fishing and playing cards. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Most of all his greatest passion was preaching the Word of God. Pete is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melissa A. (Parker) Short; two children, Candace Lynn Jackson and husband Michael of Unionville, Va. and Shawn C. Short and wife Brenda of Snow Hill, Md.; three grandchildren, Patrik Jackson, Autrey Jackson and Laura Short; a brother, Charles E. Short of Seaford; and two sisters, Joan Whaley of Laurel and Doris Collins of Seaford. A funeral service will be held Sat., Sept. 7, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Christian Church of Seaford, 22581 Sussex Highway, Seaford, Del., 19973. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Milford Church of Christ, 1003 S. Dupont Hwy., Milford, Del., 19963. Burial will be in Old Paths Church Cemetery, Georgetown. Flowers are accepted, or contributions can be made to Milford Church of Christ, PO Box 604, Milford, Del., 19963. Arrangements in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
