February 14, 1927 to February 8, 2017 FELTON - Rev. Clarence E. Voshell Sr., husband, father, Uncle, Pop Pop and a friend to all, went home to be with his Savior on Feb. 8, 2017, just six days before his 90th birthday. Clarence lived as full of a life as it was long. Always a young man at heart, he had the spark of life that others saw and that made them want to be around him. Born in Wyoming, to Perlie E. and Florence A. (Seamans) Voshell in 1927, Clarence grew up with eight siblings. While he already said goodbye to some of his siblings (Elwood, Willis, Ed, John, Fred), he is survived by brothers, David, Kenneth; and his sister, Sarah States. His wife, Rose, went home before him in 2015. Clarence grew up on a farm and would tell amazing stories of the "old days." He and Rose raised seven children together. Vivian (and Bob) Bassett, Ron (and Barbara) Voshell, Clarence E. "Junior" (and Bonny) Voshell, Joe Voshell, Cathy (and Ted) Mermigos, Dorcas Irizarry, Linda (and Steve) Sands. For the last 30 years, he called Felton home…building a home there on some acres. That home became the center of the extended family with wonderful memories of picnics and swimming in the pond or pool and many amazing dinners and holidays. The family grew larger and larger over the years with 12 grandkids and 12 great-grandkids. Growing up on a farm, Clarence was an amazing gardener. He could grow a garden and raise cattle that kept the family fed over the years. He was a home builder along with his sons, Ronnie and Junior, putting hundreds of families in their first home. Both Junior and Ronnie took wonderful care of their dad in his last year. Above all else, Clarence was a pastor. All his life, he reached out to the poor and needy as well as the comfortable and needy, impacting thousands of lives with Christ's love that shone through him. Along with Rose, he started four churches on the Delmarva Peninsula and then spent the last 30 years as pastor at Aldersgate Wesleyan Church in Milford. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Genesis Milford Center for the loving care given to their father over the past year. Also a special thank you is extended to the staff of Seasons Hospice for the comfort, warmth and love they provided, to both Clarence and the family, over the past several months. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, with visitation Sunday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, next to his wife. Flowers are accepted.
