MAGNOLIA - Clara "Winnie" Stroz was born on Dec. 8, 1920 and passed away on Jan. 17, 2013 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Her family was by her side at Kent General/Bay Health Hospital when she made the peaceful journey to heaven. Clara was a native of Minnesota but moved to Dover in 1955. Although she was soft spoken, she was feisty defender of her Church, her country and her favorite sports. In her younger years, she was Rosy the Riveter of the Mitchel B-25 aircraft during World War II. She was an avid golfer and even got a hole in one. In her later years, her passion was her church, family and friends. She was a devoted Roman Catholic. Her kindness and happy spirit will always be remembered by everyone she met during her long and fulfilling life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell; and her dog, Sassy. Her survivors include her sons, Michael, Briane; and daughter-in-law, Betty; three grandchildren, Michael, Denise and Marc; five great-grandchildren, Shawn, Tyler, Mindy, Anna and Alexander; and two great-great-grandchildren, Owen, Zoe; and her new dog, Sassy Tu. A remembrance service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at Chapel 2 on Dover AFB. She will be buried with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution to a cancer charity to help fight the battle. Local arrangements by Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus Street, Dover, Delaware 19901. Letter of condolence may be sent to trader@aol.com or to www.delmarvaobits.com.
