Clara Alverta Kriewald

Kriewald, 93 MARION STATION - Clara Alverta Kriewald died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield where she had been a resident for the past three years. Born in Baltimore on Oct. 19, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Mattie Cook Barrett. Her husband, William August Kriewald, died Aug. 31, 2003. A homemaker, she was a graduate of Southern High School in Baltimore. She also worked as a waitress, and at National Plastics. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church. She loved all people, and was always helpful and very kind-hearted. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Thomas and husband William of Marion Station; two grandchildren, Kenneth Smith of Fla. and Christopher Shannon Smith of Calif.; a step-daughter, Sheri Thomas of Marion Station; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Terry, Angela Smith, Joseph Smith, Destiny Thomas, Joshua Smith, and Robert Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Pauline Wentworth, Vera Davis, and Mark Shirley Barrett. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Pastor Tad Maroon officiated. Interment followed in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion Station.
