Christine E. Cain, 81
FREDERICA, DE - Christine E. Cain peacefully departed this life on March 20, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Never one to hold her tongue, she was absolutely known for telling anyone exactly how it was, and those who knew her best appreciated that quality about her. Though she endured MANY trials and tribulations over the years with her health, she was a true fighter.
She retired from the State of Delaware in 2004, after many years of service and went on to enjoy life with loved ones. She was a graduate of Goldey-Beacom College and always had a love for learning. She loved the Lord and when she was able, spent a good amount of time studying scripture and attending service at Dover First Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ethel Hughes; her sister, Merlee Watson; and her brother, Henry Hughes.
She leaves to cherish in her memories her daughters, Rochelle Mason, of Felton, DE, Tracey Scott, of New Castle, DE (who both provided unwavering care until her departure), Lolita Wilson, of Seaford, DE, Erica Cain, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and one son, Eric Cain, of Copperas Cove, Texas. She will also live in the hearts of her sister, Ira Scott, of Dover, DE; her son-in-law, Robert T. Mason III, who was very much like another son; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren (1 in heaven), 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
