WILMINGTON — Join the Choir School of Delaware on April 27-30 as it makes history at “Bent But Not Broken,” the first conference amplifying the musical contributions of Black artists across time and genres, to be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 900 N. Washington St.
This event will feature performances by leading choral ensembles, including the American Spiritual Ensemble, led by Everett McCorvey; EXIGENCE, led by Eugene Rogers; Westminster Choir College Jubilee Singers, led by Vinroy J. Brown Jr.; The St. Thomas Gospel Choir, led by Minister Waltier Blocker; and the Choir School of Delaware, with guest conductor Jason Max Ferdinand.
These performances will be complemented by workshops and interest sessions led by knowledgeable scholars of music and history.
Additionally, an Honor Choir of local choristers ages 12-plus will be conducted by Maria Ellis and Alysia Lee.
