CAMDEN WYOMING, Del. - Chief Master Sgt. Walker Dale Cullop passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Walker was born Nov. 17, 1936 to the late Wiley Victor and Katherine Minton Cullop in Corinne, W.Va. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 30 years. He served 2 years in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. His last active duty assignment was with the 9th MAS at Dover AFB, Del., where he achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He received many awards in his career, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal, and Air Medal with 10 devices, all received for his bravery during the Vietnam conflict. Upon his retirement in 1986, Chief Cullop owned and operated Delaware Assembly Service, until his retirement from his business in 2002. His retirement hobbies included traveling to various AC-119 Gunship Association reunions and traveling to see family and friends. To his friends, he was a loyal and trusted confidante. To his family, he left behind a legacy of honor, faithfullness, and love. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Somjai Cullop in 2008; a brother, John D. Cullop; sister, Helen L. Crager; and brother-in-laws, Charles Flanagan and Warren Thompson. He is survived by his children, Gwendolyn Ames, of Wyoming, Ill., Carmen Wantowski and her husband Robert, of Virginia Beach, Va., Pamela Satterfield and her husband, Donald, of Camden; grandchildren, Justin Cullop, Aubrey Ames, Russell Wantowski, Jasmine Cullop, Joseph Satterfield, Alexis Ames, Emily McGaha, Madison McCann; four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Wiley V. (Donna) Cullop, James (Judith) Cullop, Richard (Andrea) Cullop, Alvie (Donna) Cullop, Cecil (Susan) Cullop, and Gregory (Debbie) Cullop; seven sisters, Barbara (Jack) Ripley, Marion (Harry) Fox, Mary Lynn (Carl) Shrewsbury, Shirley Thompson, Rosa Lee (Burt) Casteel, Brenda (Bill) Toothman, and Karen Cullop; sister-in-law, Sherry Cullop; brother-in-law, Carl Crager; and a large extension of nephews and nieces and his wife's family in Thailand. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at the Victory Baptist Church, Beaver, W.Va. Officiating is Dr. Roland Roberts. Interment with full military honors will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
