Winters, 27 DOVER - Cheryss Lathel Winters was born June 22, 1985; the oldest child to Michael and Barbara Winters. Gone too soon, Cheryss passed suddenly and tragically on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012. Cheryss was a happy, cheerful youngster. She was like a colorful butterfly, fluttering about on summer sunshine. She went to school in the Caesar Rodney School District; developing many lasting relationships. She loved to dote on her younger siblings like a mother hen, and was very protective of them. Like her name implies, she is a cherished and loved daughter and sister. She was preceded in death by a son, Christian. She is survived by her grandparents, Nina and Timothy Winters of Dover; mother, Barbara Winters; step-mother, Victoria Winters; father, Michael Winters, all of Dover; a special uncle, Timothy Winters III of Dover; aunts, Jane Winters of Dover and Shellye L. Winters of Randallstown, Md.; sister, Natasha Winters; step-sisters, Tamaya Veal, Kiara and Jasmine Scott all of Dover and LaToya Reid of Philadelphia, Pa.; brothers, Shaun and Storm Winters of Dover; step-brother Larzar Reid of Dover; cousins, Krystelle Winters and Timothy June-June Winters IV of Dover; niece, Tyra Reid who held a special place in her heart and a host of young neices, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Bibleway Temple C.O.G.I.C 56 S. Kirkwood St. Dover, DE. Arrangements entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home. www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
