CLAYTON - Cheryl Dianne Keleher passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014. She joined our Heavenly Father at the age of 55. She was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School and Abilene Christian University, where she was an outstanding student athlete. She received her Nursing Degree with honors from Wesley College. She began her nursing career in Delaware in 1988 and continued treating her patients with compassionate care for over 25 years in various state facilities. Cheryl loved the outdoors, beaches, decorating, gardening, music and visiting friends and family in Charleston, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edith Focht; and her first husband, Jeffery Lane Miller. She is survived by her husband Jay; son, Jordan Miller and his wife Heather; step-son, Jesse Keleher; daughter-in-law, Kerry Keleher; her precious grandchildren, Chloee, Brayden and Colton; sister, Leslie; brother, Michael; sister-in-laws, (and best friends) Patty Whetsell and husband Herbie, Leann Piper and husband Mark; brother-in-law, John Miller and wife Stacey; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear, dear friends, Suzy, Rita and Eileen; and her beloved pets, Snickers and Elmo. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, Mar. 6, 2014 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Smyrna Church of Christ; Kent County SPCA; Ovarian cancer Foundation; or to any other charitable organization of your choice.
