'Snooky' DeVeau DOVER - Chauncey H. DeVeau "Snooky", of Dover, passed away Tuesday April 17, 2012, at home. He was 75. Snooky was born June 12, 1936, in Commack, Long Island, N.Y., to the late Arthur J. and Helen DeVeau. He had moved from Commack, N.Y., to Dover in 1957, to manage Jenkins Potato Farm. Snooky was employed by Wyoming Block and has been in the trucking business, and owned his own business, DeVeau Trucking, Inc. until his death. He was a life member of the Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge, and the Dover Elks Lodge, BPOE 1903. Snooky was a hard worker all his life and enjoyed what he did. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Parkowski, 1999; and grandson, Luke Allen Brown, 1995. He is survived by his wife of 32 ½ years, Mary Catherine Ross DeVeau of Dover; sons, Jeff DeVeau and his wife, Janie of Felton, Jay DeVeau and his wife Brenda of Magnolia, John Seaman and his wife Sissy of Cheswold; stepdaughter, Teresa Brown and her husband Harry of Dover; stepsons, William Draper and his wife Mary Ann of Felton, Robert Draper and his fiancé Jamie of Milford and David Draper of Greensboro, Md.; grandchildren, Jennifer Biddle and her husband Shane, Ashley Best and her husband Andy, Linsey and Brook Seaman, Alex Parkowski, Brittney Cox and her husband Ronald, William Draper, Jr. and Robert Draper Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Austin, Ellie, Olivia and Hannah. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2012, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (rt.10), Dover, DE 19904. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday evening. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park. Flowers are appreciated but donations may be sent to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
